The final heroes from St. Martin/Mühlkreis turned night into day after the 3:2 state cup success against Oedt. “We really wanted to win the title and we partied until the early hours of the morning,” says Dominik Nimmervoll, the Mühlviertler success coach.
The comeback of his kickers made him particularly proud: “We were really far away in the first half, but the team then fought back impressively. In the end it was a brutal battle of nerves.” The first state cup title is the culmination of a success story: Nimmervoll and his brother and assistant coach Rainer leave the blue and yellow in the summer after four years – with a trophy to say goodbye. “The chances of winning the title are still there in the league. We are still fully focused.” On Sunday, after the party marathon, his team welcomes Perg (5 p.m.).
Hartl takes over in the summer
Nimmervoll has not yet made a decision about his future: “I’ll think about that after the last three games of the season.”
His Noch-Klub, on the other hand, has already found a successor: Ex-professional Stefan Hartl will be in charge of St. Martin from the coming season. “We are glad that we were able to present a trainer from the area with Stefan Hartl,” confirms St. Martin’s sports director Christoph Rudelstorfer to OÖN about the new strong man on the Mühlviertler bench.
The 45-year-old from Altenfelden won the cup as a player with SV Ried and was two-time second division champion with FC Linz and Pasching. Overall, he played 139 games in the professional field. Hartl is currently still a coach at Landesliga-Ost-Klub Bad Leonfelden. In the summer he starts a new challenge with the newly crowned State Cup winner.
