Both women from Klosterneuburg (Tulln district) made it into the top three. The 19-year-old won the 17th edition, mother Martina, 50 years old, made it to third place. “I got everything I wanted, I just had fun, I treat my daughter more than I do and I’m incredibly proud,” said Mama Martina after the announcement. Daughter Lou-Anne still couldn’t believe it minutes after the decision was made: “I still have the feeling that I’m in a rehearsal and that the real final is yet to come, I can’t believe it,” she said.
Focus on “Diversity”
The ProSieben show started its 17th season this year with a special focus on “diversity”. After Alex Mariah Peter, a transgender model, won for the first time in 2021, this time the field of candidates was broader than ever. Models of different heights, shapes and ages made it into Klum’s top 20.

At the same time, in the days leading up to the finale, the annual criticism of the show was loud again: several former candidates criticized the show concept and the production conditions on social media. The point of criticism, however, was not usually the participation of women who represent different types of models, but the contradiction between the new image of the show and previous seasons in which Klum and her co-jurors were repeatedly critical to pejorative about the appearance – sometimes underage – models had spoken.
Lou-Anne didn’t care at all that evening: she now adorns the cover of the magazine “Harper’s Bazaar”, is allowed to participate in a campaign by “Mac-Cosmetics” and brings a prize of 100,000 euros to Klosterneuburg.
