The young man from the Linz-Land district was driving his father’s car at around 10:15 p.m. The 23-year-old was noticed by a police patrol with his driving style. The police officers asked the driver to stop with blue lights, a horn and a headlight flasher. The man stopped briefly, but shortly thereafter accelerated his car again in the direction of the Haid train station. The police patrol took up the pursuit. During his escape, the 23-year-old drove, among other things, at up to 120 km/h in a 30 zone, overtook dangerously and ignored stop signs. That’s how he managed to escape.
With the help of the license plate, the officers were able to quickly find out the driver. They contacted him by phone, and the 23-year-old came to the office. During the questioning, the police officers were able to identify clear symptoms of an addictive substance impairment. A voluntary rapid drug test was positive. The medical officer then determined that he was unfit to drive. The man stated that his driver’s license had already been taken away for drug use. He is being charged with multiple crimes.
