“The Freaks” soaring: show team wants to be in the final of “Britain’s Got Talent”

The “freaks” from St. Valentin were celebrated like superstars after their sensational performance on “Britain’s Got Talent”. “The jury said they’ve never seen anything like it. That was huge praise,” says the choreographer of the acrobatic show team, OC (Ossi) Ono.

As reported, the group of 30 moved into the semi-finals of the British talent show. The young Austrians traveled to London on Monday, where they will again compete in front of an audience of millions on June 1st. “We definitely want to reach the final,” says Paula Rosenauer from Kirchberg-Thening. The 17-year-old dancer is one of several “freaks” from Upper Austria. Together with ten-year-old Annika from Steyr, she opened the “Audition”, i.e. the first screening of the show. When the rest of the team joined in, there was a lot of movement on stage: acrobats built themselves into a tower, flew through the air, formed a tower and served as a “jump line”. With the words “not from this world” the science fiction insert was hoisted into the next round.

The video already has almost 2.9 million views on YouTube:

Fire and an Evil Queen

The team around head coach Ossi wants to surpass themselves in the semi-final show. The choreography was rehearsed for weeks, with which one wants to amaze the audience in the Apollo Theater and in front of the television again. Ossi sets the bar high: not only the acrobatic performance will increase, but also the visual. “We have fire and we have the evil queen being lifted five meters up,” he says.

Paula Rosenauer is also full of anticipation. “The stage design will be really spectacular,” she says, and reveals another special feature: “You should pay attention to the story that we tell with our performance.”

Should “The Freaks” reach the grand finale, their stay in the UK will be extended by a few days. The choreography for this is already in the can. “I hope that we can also show them,” says Paula Rosenauer.
