Temperatures will rise continuously up to 31 degrees until Friday. However, showers and thunderstorms are still possible in some cases, the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) predicted on Sunday.
The begins in the eastern half of the country Monday still very sunny with scattered cloud cover, but clouds are already predominant further to the west. Rain and rain showers are spreading from the west to many parts of the country. It will remain largely dry in the north and east. The wind usually blows only weakly. The temperature rises to highs of between 15 and 21 degrees.
At the Tuesday the Eastern Alps remain under the influence of the low-pressure complex, and so the weather from the previous day essentially repeats itself. In the morning there will be loose clouds and sunny weather, especially in the eastern half, in the west dense clouds will soon prevail and rain showers will fall. Eventually, the risk of showers will increase throughout the mountainous region, and there will also be thunderstorms locally. Towards evening, individual thunderstorms can also move over the northern foothills of the Alps. Over the course of the day, cumulus clouds will form, starting from the mountains, but the chance of showers usually only increases more significantly over the mountains of western Austria, and thunderstorms are also possible. Everywhere else it stays mostly dry. The wind will be weak to moderate and turn more and more frequently to southeast to southwest. The early temperatures range from nine to 14 degrees, the maximum values 24 to 28 degrees.
At the Thursday A weak fault zone passes to the north. This will temporarily increase the risk of showers and thunderstorms. Already in the morning, cumulus clouds are rising from the mountains and the likelihood of thunderstorms is increasing across the board. It is greatest over the mountains, but local downpours are also possible in the lowlands. After ten to 17 degrees in the morning, 25 to 30 degrees are expected during the day.
After a sunny FridayFrom the beginning, the cumulus clouds over the western half of Austria are gradually becoming thicker again and here the risk of showers and thunderstorms is increasing. It is sunny, hot and more stable in the east and south-east. The day begins with ten to 15 degrees and reaches its temperature high point of 26 to 31 degrees.
