The accident happened around 2 p.m. at the exit from the L1095 to the B148. An 80-year-old car driver coming from the L1095 may have overlooked a 64-year-old driver. The two vehicles collided. The force of the impact threw both cars into a stationary truck, whose 52-year-old driver had stopped to allow several vehicles to exit. His 61-year-old wife was also in the 64-year-old’s car.
Two injured
The 80-year-old and the 61-year-old were injured to an unspecified degree, the police reported. They were taken to the hospital in Ried and Braunau by ambulance and rescue helicopter. The 64-year-old was also taken to the Ried hospital for a check-up. The truck driver was not injured.
