The attacks, directed against the security forces, took place in Cartagena del Chairá, in the department of Caquetá, and in El Retorno and La Catalina, in the department of Guaviare, the official explained.
In one of the incidents in Guaviare a soldier was injured, Molano added at a press conference.
“We make a call to all Colombians to go out and vote the rest of the afternoon, the conditions of security and tranquility on the part of our public force are given,” he stressed.
Molano also said that there were two arrests due to electoral crimes, one in the Nariño department and the other in the Cauca department, both in the southwest of the country.
However, he assured that despite these incidents, the electoral day passed normally.
The Minister of the Interior, Daniel Palacio, added that three acts of violence were reported today in the country, which are unrelated to the day and in which a soldier was injured.
In this regard, the Electoral Observation Mission (MOE) agreed with the official version of the three violent acts, which it did not link to election day either, but assured that two soldiers died in one of them after the activation of an explosive charge in a rural area. of the municipality of El Retorno, in the southern department of Guaviare.
