It was a disappointing season for ATSV Stadl-Paura: After the 0-1 draw against FC Wels, Ari Taner’s team has six points after 30 rounds, and the last team has long since been relegated to the Upper Austrian league. Another complete upheaval within the association is inevitable. A cadre policy as before – with a large number of different legionnaires – is no longer possible anyway due to the stricter regulations in the Upper Austrian league.
Johann Stöttinger will probably not be able to cope with this mammoth task of putting together the new squad alone, which is why it was Stadl-Paura’s long-term doer who recently appealed to former fellow officials with a call for help: a general meeting was also held recently. Before that, Chairman Stöttinger informed in a letter: “At the upcoming annual general meeting, new elections are in the room, and in my opinion the board should be completely reorganized. I ask you to come to the meeting to exchange ideas and give the ATSV new perspectives again. ” He also confirmed in an interview with OÖN: “It needs fresh blood. I have to slowly look at my age.”
Restart in 2nd class not an issue
Stöttinger countered rumors that Stadl-Paura could retire after relegation and dare to start again in the 2nd class: “That’s nonsense, we’re going on as normal in the Upper Austrian league.” The stricter regulations in the highest league of the federal state – such as the association player rule (only two players who are not Austrians or have been playing in Austria for at least four years) or the rule for regular players – do not cause him a headache: “These rules are not allowed for any club in Upper Austria pose a problem. We have a lot of good young players in our 1b team.”
