“It’s not just about the municipal administration, the schools have also been digitally upgraded,” says Mayor Gerhard Obernberger. Middle school and all three elementary schools were completely digitally renewed this school year. This gives students and teachers the best opportunities. The kindergartens were also not forgotten and a proper computer system was created for the administration of the children.
For the middle school there was a complete modernization of the IT infrastructure and the provision of new cloud and server structures. “This made distance learning and working very easy, but also the fast integration of the federal notebooks for the students. Two IT rooms with around 50 PCs enable the students to expand their digital skills beyond normal lessons,” says Director Michael Gerstmayr.
In the elementary schools, the entire IT was converted to a cloud solution. This enables central administration of the schools as well as the PCs and notebooks. The municipality also invested in new equipment. This means that Kremsmünster is fit for the requirements of the future. “These pilot projects also help other communities, since everything is programmed in the direction of transferability to other organizations,” says Haider.
