Yesterday morning, a group of four set out with a mountain guide on a tour of the Drachenwand in Sankt Lorenz. The group had booked a three-day via ferrata course for beginners.
The accident happened around 10.30 a.m. halfway up the via ferrata: a 33-year-old with German citizenship twisted her knee while overcoming a short steep step.
Due to the injury, the woman was unable to continue the mountain tour and was no longer able to descend into the valley on her own. The mountain guide therefore alerted the mountain rescue service with an emergency call. The emergency doctor helicopter Martin 3 then moved out, the crew pulled the injured person out of the wall with a rope and took them to the accident hospital in Salzburg.
