“Specialized forces of the Minint (Ministry of the Interior NDR) carry out their work and search inside the hotel,” the note stated, stressing that it is a “false alarm.”

“The media financed by the United States are doing their job of generating panic. According to local information, the alert was generated by a call from the United States and at the time the journalist Mario J. Penton started the alarmist speculation,” he mentioned.

The note did not identify whether Penton is inside or outside of Cuba.

“After several attempted boycott actions against tourism, now they are returning to old methods to create panic in the population,” he reiterated.

“At this time in the hotel there is tranquility, as well as in the surroundings of the Nuevo Vedado neighborhood where the hotel institution of Isla Azul is located,” said the statement recently reproduced on the “social networks of the Granma newspaper”, spokesman for the ruler Communist Party.
