According to police information from Monday, they wanted to force a day off with the threatening letter. The duo confessed. Because of the suspicion of the dangerous threat, the public prosecutor’s office in Korneuburg and the youth welfare agency of the district authority in Mistelbach were reported.
The threatening letter was discovered in the middle school auditorium on the afternoon of May 19. A killing spree was announced for May 20th. The property was searched the same day with no results. An explosives detection dog from the Guntersdorf police service dog inspection was involved in the action.
There were no indications of an actually imminent killing spree, the Lower Austrian state police department emphasized in a broadcast. Therefore, the original plan of the two suspects to get a day off from school failed. The lessons took place undisturbed on May 20, accompanied by a security concept with entrance and area controls by police officers from the Mistelbach district and the rapid intervention group. “The safety of the students and the teaching staff was guaranteed at all times by the security measures taken,” it was emphasized.
