After 15 years as district hunting master of Linz, Engelbert Zeilinger handed over the office to his successor Christian Pfistermüller at the district hunting day in St. Marien at the weekend.
His attitude of always seeking dialogue with everyone involved in order to find solutions distinguished Zeilinger during his tenure, said state hunting master Herbert Sieghartsleitner. For his special services to local hunting, the now former district master of hunters was awarded the Silver Medal of Honor of Upper Austria. Awarded by the State Hunting Association.
In the spirit of Zeilinger, his unanimously elected successor also wants to continue the work as district hunting master responsible for Linz-Stadt and Linz-Land. He and his team want to anchor the importance of nature and wildlife conservation more firmly in society. The hunters would have an important “translation function” for this, said Pfistermüller.
