Michael Lageder has already played 156 games for the second division soccer team SK Vorwarts Steyr: there are still a few more to come. “The conversations with Michael were open and extremely appreciative. Both sides are really keen on the upcoming tasks,” says Steyr’s sports director Jürgen Tröscher on the extension of the 31-year-old’s contract for another season. “Michael has developed into an important part on the pitch and in the dressing room, who consistently performs, was top professional even in difficult phases and guides and supports the young player. I’m glad Michael is loyal to us.”
“It wasn’t a difficult decision,” confirms Michael Lageder. “I feel very comfortable and in good hands again at home in Steyr. Especially the spring and the good development as a team are an incentive to continue to be a part of it.”
Four more players leave
For four other players, however, the time to say goodbye has come. As the Upper Austrians announced on Monday evening, cooperation player Julian Turi is returning to SV Ried.
Paul Sahanek also has no future at the 2nd division club. The Madlener team also did not exercise the purchase option at Can Alak. At Luca Mary-Fälten, those responsible made intensive efforts to continue working together, but despite the offer, the player decided against staying.
