How can unlimited economic growth work on a finite planet? Isn’t an eco-social transformation of our society needed now?
Events on earth are currently being shaped by numerous crises such as corona, climate change, threats to democracy, migration and wars. The call to rethink is getting louder and louder, because the current systems have caused these crises. It’s time to work for the common good. One should not accept that something is the way it is.
It is not greed, avarice and money that should continue to determine world events, but a society in which cooperation, creativity and conviviality are the guiding values. Ecological and social transformation can only be achieved hand in hand. Tomorrow, Wednesday, from 7 p.m., a panel discussion with top-class experts will deal with this topic in the Dominikanerhaus education center. Participants are the theologian Michaela Moser from the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, Provincial Councilor Stefan Kaineder, WK Vice President Angelika Sery-Froschauer and Caritas Director Franz Kehrer. The evening will be moderated by the theologian and poverty researcher Magdalena Holztrattner.
