Longtime sports club chairman died in an accident

Mourning reigns throughout Rainbach, but especially in the local sports union, after it became known that the long-time chairman of the sports club, Hubert Stadler, died on Sunday of his serious injuries sustained a few days ago in a construction site accident. The 71-year-old fell from a ladder while renovating his house and suffered life-threatening injuries.

As a skilled do-it-yourselfer and craftsman, Hubert Stadler was valued in Rainbach just as much as he was a passionate stick shooter, bowler and cyclist. Stadler, who had worked as a dispatcher at FM Küchen until his retirement, was also known for his poems. The man from Rainbach devoted a lot of time to his family with his wife Elisabeth and his children and grandchildren.

His second family was the Sportunion Rainbach. For almost four decades he was committed to the club as chairman with great commitment. Above all, working with young people was a major concern for him. For his services, Stadler was awarded, among other things, the Ring of Honor of the municipality of Rainbach and the Golden Medal of Honor of the State of Upper Austria.

Hubert Stadler’s funeral is scheduled for June 3 at 2 p.m. in Rainbach.
