In the summer of last year, Bad Ischl confectioner Philipp Zauner bought the traditional Stadt Salzburg hotel on Salzburger Strasse to convert it into a staff residence. After five months of construction, it is now complete. 28 staff accommodations are ready for the team of the traditional Hofzuckerbäckerei to move into.
The reason for the investment was the planned expansion of confectionery production in Pfarrgasse in the coming year. Because the famous confectioner is selling more and more products online, the packaging there also needs to be expanded. For this reason, the existing staff accommodation in Pfarrgasse has to be removed.
But in the former “Stadt Salzburg” hotel, employees can now look forward to more attractive rooms with WiFi, cable TV, laundry room and shared kitchens and dining rooms on 1,800 square meters of floor space. The two locations of the Zauner confectionery can be reached on foot in two minutes, there are enough parking spaces, public transport connections are available, and at the same time the location offers the perfect starting point for leisure activities.
“The implementation of our own staff house in the city center is of course a big step for our family business that we do not dare to take every day,” says Philipp Zauner. “We are now extremely happy about the completion, because we see the offer to our team as an important building block for our success. If we want to grow steadily as a traditional company, offers like this are a basic requirement. Providing housing has become a must in our industry.”
