How little Linden unites big Europe

How little Linden unites big Europe

Contacts across Europe are made possible by the partnership “Linden greets Linden”, in which the district of St. Georgen am Walde of the same name is involved. The fact that these contacts can now be maintained on a personal level again gave the Europe Days held last week in St. Georgen a special setting.

The focus of the six-day program this year was the youth exchange through the EU program “Erasmus+”. Guests from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and France sounded out possibilities in the Mühlviertel of how international exchange can be supported at municipal level. To this end, the Linden partners organized in cooperation with the Oö. Association of Municipalities held a “European Conference of Upper Austrian Municipalities” where, among other things, the topic of mobility of skilled workers was discussed.

The participants got practical tips for working with young people during a visit to the youth center in Grein and a radio workshop with the “Jugendtankstelle Mühlviertler Alm”.
