The former SVM player and current LASK trainer Dietmar Kühbauer is said to have lost around 1.7 million euros due to the bankruptcy of Commerzialbank Mattersburg in the summer of 2020, the “Kurier” reported on Thursday. The Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) did not comment on the sum with reference to the ongoing investigation when asked by APA.
A current interim report by the investigators contains 18 interrogations of victims, including those of Kühbauer. He stated: “The damage amounts to at least 1.866 million euros. However, since the account balances did not ‘fit’ at the time the bank was closed, which was also stated in the private party connection, I cannot quantify the damage exactly.” He and his wife would have received a total of 200,000 euros from the deposit insurance, which means that the damage suffered would amount to around 1.7 million.
The assets were managed by the former bank boss Martin Pucher, according to the footballer: “I have to admit that I never really cared about it. When I needed money, there was always something there. (…) I have the investment Trusts Martin Pucher more or less blindly.”
