About 300 people who found shelter in Austria before the war in Ukraine live in the Rohrbach district. Your need for basic information is great. Likewise the interest in being able to pursue a regular job in Austria. Therefore, the WKO Rohrbach invited these people and social organizations to a breakfast together.
Important contacts were available at the event as speakers and afterwards as consultants. Host Klaus Grad, head of the WKO Rohrbach, provided information about life in the Rohrbach district, about the needs of the economy and about the range of German courses and the possibilities of apprenticeship training. District Governor Wilbirg Mitterlehner addressed topics related to health, driving licenses and safety. Martin Reisinger from the health insurance company explained the range of health care. Sefa Yetkin from the AMS informed about the requirements and possibilities of taking up work.
Economy is struggling for workers
Since the unemployment rate in the Rohrbach district is historically low at 1.5 percent, the event focused on the topic of possible employment. Within the framework of basic care, refugees in need of help and protection primarily receive services aimed at covering their basic daily needs. The interest in jobs and additional income opportunities during their stay in the Rohrbach district was correspondingly high among the participants. After the specialist lectures, there was still the opportunity for personal, individual advice at the welcome breakfast, for which the experts from the social organizations took plenty of time.
