In Germany, the theoretical price difference for super petrol has been 35 cents per liter since yesterday due to the tax relief. With diesel, the relief is significantly lower at just under 17 cents per liter. The German tax cut is valid for three months, i.e. until the end of August. In Austria, on the other hand, the CO2 pricing that will then come into force in July will increase pump prices again.
The price commission of experts and social partners set up by the government in April is due to deliver a report soon. The work is in the process of being finalized and completion is expected in the next few days, the Ministry of Finance said yesterday.
