How can patients be supported in their efforts to communicate their needs? Which communication aids are beneficial for which patients? What tools are there for people with disabilities to control computers or tablets? All of this is the topic of one of the 25 workshops that will be presented as part of the Integra trade fair presented by OÖN from next Wednesday, June 8th to Friday.
Around 200 exhibitors
At the fair there is not only theory, but also practice for both patients and nursing staff – especially caring relatives. Around 200 exhibitors will also present numerous technical aids that can make everyday care easier.
Such as the Lica app from the Regauer company Lica Life Core GmbH. This is a web-based documentation and support platform for caring for people in their usual environment. This allows you to document important values (blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.) as well as care and support services.
Another example is an interactive game table developed by the Ansfelden-based company Mindtab. Up to four people can play different games together on this, which train the brain or motor skills and promote mental fitness. In addition, the 43-inch (around 109 centimeters) large touch display of the Mindtab is designed in such a way that it can be individually adjusted.
Sensors detect movement
In addition to these examples from Upper Austria, other technical innovations will be presented, such as the smart fall prevention cogvis AI, which uses 3D sensors to recognize the movements of people in the room. If the patient falls, an alarm is triggered automatically. The system can also be individually adapted to the circumstances. “There are so many technical possibilities to make everyday life easier for nursing staff and, of course, caring relatives. That’s why it’s important that these innovations are presented to a broad audience,” says VP Social Counselor Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer.
Trade fair manager Petra Leingartner emphasizes: “The topic of care is becoming increasingly important. At Integra we offer comprehensive information and further training opportunities for both nursing professionals and caring relatives.” In addition to the exhibitors and workshops, there are also daily lectures on a wide variety of topics.
And a separate sports zone, in which possibilities for adults, but also for children, are shown. A wide range will be shown, from e-wheelchair football to a table tennis challenge, boccia to wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball.
