A 20-year-old had lost control of her car around 7:45 a.m. on the B147 in the direction of Munderfing. The car came off the road to the right near the village of Althöllersberg, drove over a cycle path, touched a marker post and crashed into a tree before coming to a standstill in the Schwemmbach.
The young woman from the Braunau district sustained such serious injuries in the accident that she had to be taken to the hospital in Braunau by helicopter. The Munderfing and Mattighofen fire brigades came to do the clean-up work. The badly damaged car had to be pulled out of the stream using a truck crane, the police said in the afternoon.
