Video: Bicycle messenger got lost on the A7

A bicycle courier drew astonished looks on Thursday evening on the Linz-Zentrum motorway exit: Apparently calmly, the Lieferando messenger drove on his orange e-bike from Unionstrasse onto the Mühlkreisautobahn in the direction of the A1 and Bindermichel tunnel.

The food supplier may have followed his navigation system. This obviously suggested the “fastest route” from the Lieferando base in Coulinstrasse via Waldeggstrasse and Unionstrasse to the A7. A video of the strange scenes is currently spreading virally on social media and is also available to OÖN:

The maker of the video immediately called the police, who went out to get the lost cyclist off the highway. According to the comments on Facebook, it may not have been the first time that a bicycle messenger got lost on the A7.

Localization: Here the bicycle messenger drove onto the Mühlkreisautobahn

As reported, a similar incident recently occurred in Tyrol: In Innsbruck, a food delivery man on a bicycle got lost on the busy Tyrolean Inntal autobahn (A12). He explained to officers that by the time he realized where he was, it was too late to turn around. At the Innsbruck Mitte exit – i.e. the nearest exit – the cyclist managed to exit the motorway again. An organ mandate was imposed, it was said at the time by the executive.

From the archive: Whatever the weather, they are out and about bringing people their food: the bike messengers on their e-bikes are always in a hurry. The OÖ Nachrichten accompanied an employee for a shift
