For a 59-year-old Upper Austrian and a 66-year-old German, trips with their two-wheelers ended in the hospital on Friday. The first accident happened around 1 p.m. in the municipality of Kleinreifling (Steyr-Land district). A 59-year-old fell on a short, sloping section of the Ennstal cycle path with her trekking bike. She was injured so badly that she had to be taken to the hospital in Steyr by helicopter after the emergency doctor had given her first aid.
A good three hours later, a rescue helicopter had to fly out again after a 66-year-old German lost control of his e-bike in a long right-hand bend on the L562 near Schwarzenberg (Rohrbach district). He fell and sustained serious injuries. The helicopter took him to a hospital in Linz, the police reported in the evening.
