On Saturday at 10 p.m., a passer-by phoned the Bad Ischl police station that he had been hearing someone calling from the platform at Lauffen station for some time. He fears that someone is lying on the train tracks and cannot get up. The officers of the “Bad Ischl 1” patrol then went to the train station, where they saw a man about 80 meters north of the train station in the area of the tracks.
The 64-year-old from the Steyr-Land district complained of pain and could no longer climb off the tracks onto the platform. The man was in an obviously heavily intoxicated state and was lifted off the tracks onto the platform by the police. The man was then taken to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Bad Ischl for medical care.
