No driver’s license: Linzer wanted to flee from the police

On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., police officers noticed a scooter with two people on Khevenhüllerstrasse in Linz. When the radio car was turned to stop the scooter, the driver noticed this and accelerated the vehicle sharply. He obviously wanted to evade control. He tried to flee at a significantly excessive speed via Europaplatz, Goethestraße, Darrgutstraße and Hospital Street. During the escape, all stop signs were disregarded using flashing blue lights, a follow-up horn and headlight flasher, two yellow traffic lights and all traffic regulations.

In the hospital street, the scooter was overtaken by the crew of the radio car and brought to a standstill by deliberate braking. During the subsequent check, the driver, a 24-year-old from Linz, could not show a driver’s license because he does not have a driver’s license. A pre-alcohol test carried out resulted in a value of 0.5 per mille. He then refused to carry out an alcohol test. The onward journey was forbidden and the vehicle key was taken away. Ads to follow.

During a personal check on the 23-year-old passenger, also from Linz, the police found a small amount of marijuana in her backpack. The drug was seized. During the interrogation, the woman refused to testify.
