Shortly before 6 p.m., residents sighted the two white storks as they flew low over the small community. Usually only those storks that bring the children land in Hargelsberg and then stand in wood in front of those houses where there was growth. And that has happened very often in and around Hargelsberg in the past few weeks. But the real storks that have now been sighted are rather rare visitors here. The citizens of the community who saw the animals were all the happier. They landed in a nearby field and strengthened themselves.
16 mice a day
An adult stork needs about 500 to 700 grams of food per day; this corresponds to about 16 mice or 500 to 700 earthworms.
The next day the two storks were gone again, probably having flown further south.
