A witness called the police in Wels on Saturday after noticing the car’s unusual driving style on Hans-Sachs-Strasse. In the Reitschulgasse, police officers were finally able to stop the 43-year-old driver. The visibly drunk driver had driven home from a friend in Linz with his two daughters, eight and nine years old. An alcohol test at the 43-year-old showed a value of 1.7 per thousand. The police confiscated his driver’s license and prohibited him from driving any further. The man became increasingly aggressive towards the officers, so that they had to arrest him temporarily. The two girls were handed over to their mother. After the 43-year-old had calmed down, the arrest was lifted. He is reported, child and youth welfare agencies are informed.
