At 125 km/h in the local area, a 25-year-old driver was flashed at around 7:30 p.m. on the Europastrasse in Wels. After the young woman was stopped by the police, she apologized several times, but said, “With a car like that, it would be very easy to reach that speed.” She also felt bothered by the car driver driving behind her and wanted to prove to him “who has the faster car.” The woman was reported.
There was also an advertisement for a 20-year-old probationary driver’s license holder who was driving on the Westautobahn (A1) on Saturday afternoon: the young man overtook a civil patrolman several times in the direction of Salzburg. A speed of 193 km/h was measured in a 100 km/h zone in the Sattledt area. When the police tried to stop the car, the driver overtook the civilian patrol on the right and accelerated to 220 km/h. The test driver’s license was taken from the 20-year-old on the spot.
At Allhaming, a Romanian motorcyclist (27) had previously raced past a civilian patrol on the A1 towards Vienna at 218 km/h. The driver’s license could not be taken from the man living in Austria because he did not have it with him. The 27-year-old was forbidden to continue driving.
