Putin warns he will hit new targets if West supplies Ukraine with long-range missiles

The Russian president did not define the scope of the reaction that his government would have or what the targets could be.

These statements come after the United States announced its decision to deliver its Himars (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) multiple rocket launchers with a range of approximately 80 kilometers to Ukraine.

Military experts emphasize that this range is slightly higher than that of similar Russian systems, which would allow Ukraine to attack enemy artillery without being attacked by it.

On the other hand, the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, affirmed today that Russia destroyed armored vehicles delivered to Ukraine by Eastern European countries through air strikes in kyiv, the first in the capital in several weeks.

“High-precision, long-range missiles fired by the Russian aerospace forces over the kyiv suburb destroyed T-72 tanks delivered by Eastern European countries and other armor that were in hangars,” Konashenkov said.

Previously, the mayor of kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, had reported bombings at dawn against the neighborhoods of Darnytsky and Dniprovsky, southeast of the Ukrainian capital.

According to the Ukrainian air force, several cruise missiles were fired in the direction of kyiv by Russian TU-95 aircraft based in the Caspian Sea, one of which was destroyed.

A relative calm had returned in recent weeks to the city of kyiv, as the Russians gave up capturing the capital and are concentrating on eastern Ukraine, where, according to kyiv spokesmen, the Ukrainian forces have regained some ground.
