Injured swan rescued from Mondsee

A woman called the animal rights activists on Friday evening after a number of emergency organizations had not wanted to help, Pfotenhilfe reported on Monday. A team from the animal shelter 30 kilometers away rescued the swan and brought it to the Vet Center in Anif. “The helpless swan was so badly injured in the leg that it was in mortal danger,” said Pfotenhilfe boss Johanna Stadler. She was shocked that nobody wanted to help. One of the animal’s legs had to be amputated, making reintroduction to the wild impossible. The swan is now allowed to stay at the animal shelter of the Pfotenhilfe – with spacious ponds.

Since the injury was caused by an accident, Pfotenhilfe is asking witnesses who saw the incident on Friday in the area of the lake promenade in the center of Mondsee to contact us by email at info@pfotenhilfe.at.
