Since then, its amazing “cloning” ability caused it to reproduce faster than normal until it invaded much of the state.
But the concern among the scientific community is even greater when it is noted that among its capabilities is that of devouring and destroying the ground.
This worm is known as a jumper, it is capable of leaping 30 centimeters through the air and has the ability to shake violently like a snake.

According to a report from the California Department of Food and Agriculturethis species of earthworm called Amynthas Agrestis is hermaphrodite.
The analysis carried out by the state agency shows that in just under 10 years they have built a large number of burrows throughout the State, which is rapidly destroying its soil.
The first signs of their appearance in the US date back to 2013, when they were discovered in New England and Wisconsin. Before long, however, they had taken a dozen states to the west.
But it wasn’t until July of last year that they were seen in Napa, California. Now, just eleven months later, they already occupy the entire state.
The report from the California Department of Food and Agriculture adds that they “voraciously consume litter and associated microorganisms and produce large quantities of material that changes the physical, chemical and biotic properties of the topsoil.”
Finally, the scientific community document on the worms warns that there is a “widespread distribution in forest environments and ornamental areas of California, especially in residential and commercial settings.”
