Nursing education is becoming more family-friendly

Trained nurses are desperately needed. The Rohrbach social welfare association is therefore starting a training course for nursing assistants in September in cooperation with the old people’s care school. The special thing about it: Every week, the important content is taught from Thursday to Saturday in the Rohrbach-Berg nursing home. Due to these training times, the course is extremely family-friendly.

During the course, the necessary knowledge for the care and support of people is imparted within 16 months. In January 2024, the graduates will be able to take their final examination for nursing assistance. The participants thus have the best prerequisites for a secure job in the region.

Financially secure

“It is extremely important to us that our course participants are financially secure during the training period. This is the only way we can reach people who are changing careers or people who have to support families,” says Rohrbach’s district governor Wilbirg Mitterlehner. Many graduates can, for example, take advantage of a specialist scholarship, a foundation place or educational leave.

The prerequisite for taking part in the course is a minimum age of 17, as well as completion of the ninth grade or a compulsory school-leaving examination. Otherwise, access is possible for all age groups. Appropriate knowledge of German should be available. It is very likely that you will be taken on in an employment relationship with the Rohrbach Social Welfare Association after the end of your training if you meet the requirements.

Anyone who would like to find out more about this course is welcome to an information evening on June 23 at 6 p.m. in the Rohrbach District Nursing Home. The admissions process is scheduled for July 5, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Rohrbach-Berg.
