Midfielder Aleksa Pejic has signed a contract with SK Rapid Wien until the summer of 2025. The two-time Serbian international recently played for the Belarusian first division club Shakther Soligorsk. With the club, Pejic won the championship last year.
“We already know Aleksa Pejić from his time in Novi Sad and watched him regularly even then. He is a very down-to-earth and also willing player who should be a real reinforcement for our central midfield thanks to his playful and strategic qualities.” Sports director Zoran Barisic quoted on the club website.
Coach Ferdinand Feldhofer: “Pejic will make us more diverse, he’s a type of player that we don’t currently have in the squad. He’s very robust, good in tackles and with the ball, and at around 1.90 meters he’s also quite a tall player.”
