Nicolás Maduro once again claimed Alberto Fernández for a CELAC summit

In addition, the Chavista leader demanded that the president of the United States, Joe Biden, be invited to that CELAC meeting.

“It will have to be CELAC, President Alberto Fernández. It will have to be the Community of Latin American States, chaired by you, who convenes, sooner rather than later, a summit meeting where we go 33 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and President Joe Biden is invited to listen to the dignity of our people”Maduro said in a public speech.

In any case, both Fernández and the Mexican Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who will not attend the Summit of the Americas in rejection of the exclusion of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, have already dismissed the possibility of a simultaneous CELAC meeting, something that had been agitated at first.

In this framework, the Venezuelan president pressure was put on again to finally hold the CELAC meeting in Argentina -when the summit in Los Angeles ends- to debate an alternative agenda to that of the United States and to reject in this area the exclusion of his country, Cuba and Nicaragua from the Summit of the Americas

Fernández left with his entourage this Tuesday for Los Angeles, and will speak before that forum on Friday, and then return to the country.

The Argentine head of state is expected to mention as something negative the exclusion of these three countries at the Summit of the Americas, which Washington describes as dictatorships.
