In the local information technology scene, another start-up is preparing to follow in the footsteps of industry giants such as Runtastic or Dynatrace: Danube Dynamics from Linz is making a mid-six-figure investment. Founded in 2020, the start-up specializes in programs and devices that are used in robots and machines in industry and are intended to advance automation.
“We teach robots to see and learn,” says Nico Teringl, who ventured into self-employment with his Hagenberg fellow students Philipp Knaack and Edwin Schweiger. The trio develops their own artificial intelligence algorithms and small devices that are attached to the robots and machines. This would allow them to “think ahead, optimize processes and relieve employees,” says Teringl.
Number of employees doubled
The Linz-based company’s customers include the automation specialist Keba and the electronics manufacturer Ginzinger. More are to follow when the latest generation of the product comes onto the market next year. The money for the expansion comes from Josef Langer, professor at the FH Hagenberg, his wife Christa and Florian Schnitzhofer. Schnitzhofer is the head of Reqpool, a management consultancy for software.
The growth at Danube Dynamics is also reflected in the employees: the start-up has doubled the number of employees to twelve in two years. (Rome)
