Children’s University: Secure the last places now

Andreas Kupfer, “Rector” of the Upper Austria Children’s University, is very satisfied: “You can tell that after the pandemic there is a great desire for analogue learning,” says the chairman of the Institute for Applied Environmental Education (IFAU), which organizes the children’s university.

Despite the good booking situation, there are still remaining places at all locations – Linz, Wels, Ennstal and Hagenberg. There are waiting lists for the Science Holidays in Steyr and the Almtal. In Linz, the offer was even expanded by ten courses.

Approximately 2100 children have currently registered for 441 courses with 500 lecturers. “It is currently looking like a record year,” says Kupfer.

The motto of the children’s university this year is “knowledge creates curiosity”. The role of science is highlighted across multiple disciplines – from physics to philosophy. “We experienced a very intensive debate on the subject during the pandemic. We want to take up that,” says Kupfer.

Registration is also advisable for fully booked events. “We’re working through the waiting lists and trying to accommodate all the children.”
