Without Willi Resetarits alias Ostbahn-Kurti and Herbert Grönemeyer the magnificent concerts at Burg Clam would be unthinkable. And that’s how it happened: In 1992, concerts were still held in the brewery’s guest garden with a capacity of 450 visitors.

“We had neither a plan nor enough space for the crowds of spectators who wanted to see the Ostbahn-Kurti, but we still brought in 1700 visitors,” says Clam organizer Michael Ehrenbrandtner and grins. “In this respect, the Ostbahn-Kurti is responsible for the fact that Clam exists at all. I am eternally grateful to him, unfortunately he left us much too early in April.”

Suddenly the concert summer was fired up, and Ehrenbrandtner engaged Herbert Grönemeyer for 1996. However, once again without having equipped a suitable area, let alone the Meierhofwiese with a stage. Ehrenbrandtner: “In February, Grönemeyer agreed, and from then on we built the stage. Advance sales went so well that unfortunately I got greedy and begged for a second gig – I burned out financially with that.” Nevertheless: without Grönemeyer there would be no Meierhofwiese and no concert events at the foot of the castle. In 2015 Grönemeyer came back – the concert became a celebration.
