Reinforcement for the defense: LASK brings St. Pauli captain

LASK has given the 1.89 meter central defender Philipp Ziereis a contract until the summer of 2025. The 29-year-old German was most recently captain of the second division football club FC St. Pauli, for whom he has played 159 competitive games since 2013.

“It was time for a change of scenery. LASK has big plans – from the new stadium to the return to the European stage. Those are nice goals,” said Ziereis, who will come to Upper Austria with his wife Sarah and son Lio (five months). By the way, free of charge.

“In Ziereis we were able to gain an experienced central defender who will give us stability in defence. Philipp was not only able to convince us in terms of sport. His personality will also be a real asset to our team off the pitch. We are proud that he chose LASK despite other offers from abroad.” LASK sports director Radovan Vujanovic is pleased.
