The young man from the Freistadt district lost control of his car around 5 p.m. on Friday in the Nadelberg area and left the roadway in a right-hand bend. His car hit the embankment, slid diagonally across the road on the left side of the vehicle and finally came to a standstill on its wheels.
Although vehicle parts were scattered on the road in the area of the accident site and the car was obstructing traffic, the 26-year-old did not take care of securing or cleaning the accident area. Instead, he left the scene of the accident and hitched a ride to Weitersfelden.
There the police found him in the storage area of a carpentry workshop. The alcohol test showed 0.82 per thousand. Because he complained of pain in the head and shoulder area, he was taken to the Lkh Freistadt with the rescue, the police said on Saturday morning.
