10 wines for the barbecue

10 wines for the barbecue

Before you read the next few lines and start thinking about your wine order, two myths about grilling need to be dispelled. Firstly, barbecuing is more than just a summer thing and has long secured a permanent place in the seasonal calendar. Of course it is high season now, but you can let off steam with vegetables, meat and desserts on your grill from January to December. Whether you use gas, coal or electric. This is due to the environment and personal preferences.

Secondly, the thesis persists that a beer goes best with a barbecue. Well: It’s certainly never wrong to drink a tankard while philosophizing about chops, T-bone steaks or grilled vegetables. But attentive OÖN readers know that a glass of wine goes just as well. It should always be easy and not too complex. The sommeliers have selected such wines for you – so that the next barbecue evening will be a success.
