With the help of tips from passers-by, the speeder, who had disregarded all traffic signs on his reckless drive through the city center, was caught in a side street. The young man immediately admitted to using crystal meth and cannabis.
From a gas station, where the officials wanted to check the 22-year-old who was driving conspicuously, the drug driver raced through the community area. With daring driving maneuvers, the Lower Austrian tried to shake off the police officers who were pursuing him with blue lights and sirens. When traffic forced the patrol to stop, the fugitive managed to escape briefly. Tips from witnesses at intersections along the route put the police on his trail again.
The offender was finally caught on foot in a side street. The same intoxicants that he said he had consumed a few hours earlier were found in his luggage. The young man was reported for drug use at the wheel and several traffic offenses, and his driver’s license was taken from him on the spot.
