Nemanja Celic is back at LASK: The native of Linz is initially on loan from the second German Bundesliga and is now supposed to heat up the competition in central midfield.
Celic was trained at the Linz Academy, played for FC Juniors OÖ and made three games for LASK. He made his breakthrough in Tirol in 2020/21. The Rapid coach at the time, Dietmar Kühbauer, wanted to sign the defensive midfielder back then, but he opted for the second German Bundesliga and Darmstadt. In the fourth of the past season, he made 14 appearances.
Kühbauer’s wish fulfilled a year late
LASK Kühbauer fulfilled his wish a year later. “He brings a lot with him thanks to the experience he was able to gather during his time at Wattens and in the second German Bundesliga. He also knows LASK and started his professional career here. That’s always a good basis,” said Kühbauer. Celic also wants to build on this foundation. “I have a lot of positive memories with LASK, this is where my path to becoming a professional footballer began. I learned a lot from my last stations and I’m dying to put it into practice in front of the LASK fans in the Raiffeisen Arena,” said the access.
