“Best apprentice 2022” – Julian Gramlinger, mechanical engineering apprentice at Palfinger Europe GmbH, certainly would not have expected that. With his outstanding performance, he prevailed against all competitors.
Young trainees from all over the state competed against each other in the apprenticeship competition of the Chamber of Commerce’s industry division, which is supported by the OÖ Nachrichten. A total of 665 apprentices competed for the coveted awards, which were presented yesterday in the Bruckner’s restaurant in Linz. These show how important ambitious and motivated apprentices and specialists are for Upper Austrian industry.
For the 19th time, apprentices from the electrical and metal sectors as well as from commercial and IT professions were able to demonstrate their talents. They presented the results to 100 assessors at 23 locations throughout Upper Austria.
The team competition was new this year. On April 30, six teams, each with two participants, competed against each other. The apprentices had to master different tasks in eight hours. The three best teams could look forward to an award. 67 girls also competed in technical professions. In addition to the award in their specialist area, three young women were delighted to receive the award in the “Woman in Technology” category.
