Summer sun beach. You don’t have to go far to do that. This has been possible at the Prameter bathing lake since Pentecost Sunday – thanks to Martina Gadermayr. The former operator of the “Stehachterl” in Ried has been running the beach bar “m2” (“that stands for Martina and Manuel”) at the bathing lake with her partner Manuel Philipp for a week. With the start of the summer holidays, she will also take over the kiosk on the opposite side of the lake.
On offer: cool drinks, snacks, homemade pastries, soft ice cream and much more. There is also an area specially prepared with sand, including comfortable armchairs. The entrepreneur got everything up and running in just ten days. “It was extremely stressful, but I had a lot of nice people who supported me. Together we managed to get everything ready in time for Whitsun,” says Gadermayr happily.
However, the two operators are not quite finished yet. “We want to make the area around the beach bar even cozier. That wasn’t possible in the short time available, but it will be made up for in the near future,” says the Innviertlerin.
Eduard Seib, mayor of the municipality of Pramet, also lent a hand. He had made the restaurateur the offer to lease the bar and the kiosk at the bathing lake. This is possible because the municipality has increased both from the insolvency proceedings of the Seeklause. “There were three applicants in total, but Martina Gadermayr expressed interest a few years ago. That’s why I contacted them first. Of course, we are very pleased that it works so wonderfully and that everything was ready in such a short time. This infrastructure is extremely important for the guests. They won’t come without it,” says Seib.
What will happen to the inn itself in the future is not yet certain. “Should a buyer be found, we will of course offer him or her the two kiosks. After all, you can’t throw any competition at an inn’s door. But until then, we are very happy to have found the perfect kiosk operator in Martina. The past few days have shown how well things are going,” says Seib.
