Cup draw: The die is cast!

Cup draw: The die is cast!

After a Covid break last year, the Innviertel football cup is now in its 32nd edition. The first main round was drawn in the Therme Geinberg. Exciting games are to be expected.

Due to the earlier start of the championship in some classes, the cup had to be stretched a little this year. There is no preliminary round, the main field of participants consists of 32 Innviertel football clubs.

In addition to the proven sponsors Teamsport Hofbauer, Raiffeisen and OÖNachrichten, the Therme Geinberg and the OBI hardware stores in the Innviertel are also on board as new sponsors this year. SV Ried Managing Director Rainer Wöllinger, who drew some interesting derbies, acted as the guest of honor and lucky angel.

In the panel discussion, Rainer Wöllinger described his start at SV Ried: “When I started my job, we talked more about each other than with each other. That’s more than dangerous. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the economy or football business: the mood is a very important factor. Not only in the team, but also among the employees. Where there is a good mood, something goes further!”

“We have a total budget of 8.4 million euros. 1.4 million will be invested in the offspring, including Young Vikings. This budget must be sensibly controlled and properly managed,” emphasized the SVR Managing Director. The past few weeks have also been very demanding for him: “Many jobs and employees are attached. I couldn’t tell them until the end how things would go for them in five weeks. In such a phase you can’t guarantee anything, it’s really brutal. “

After the forced breaks in the past two years, the Rieder want to play the double pass to the lower house clubs again. SVR kickers will again go out to youth training sessions and autograph sessions, and there will also be promotions for youth teams in the Rieder stadium again. Rainer Wöllinger also hinted that the academy’s junior center will be completely renovated and that a grandstand will also be built. There are also initial considerations of renewing and enlarging the fan village.

No test or guest players

Rainer Schröckelsberger from the Cup Committee briefly explained the regulations: “All games are created in the system, there are no regular players, association players and U22 rules. Newcomers can also be used, but no test or guest players! All rounds are drawn, the Entrance fees are four euros, women have free entry. When higher-class clubs meet, the prices can be adjusted to the league!”

Valuable prizes raffled

There were a few happy faces in the raffle at the end of the cup draw: The Weber grill sponsored by OBI went to SK Altheim, and ATSV Laab can look forward to a new Kärcher. U. Sigharting can enjoy the regeneration evening for 20 people donated by Therme Geinberg.

And each club present received a training ball from Teamsport Hofbauer in Simbach.

Incidentally, on the big final day on Saturday, July 30, prizes with a total value of more than 1,500 euros will be awarded once again.
