The victims were identified as Kamal Lahluh, Yusef Nasser Salah and Laith Salah Abu Srur, the AFP news agency said.
In addition, 10 Palestinians were injured in the raids, which have increased in the area recently.
According to the Israeli army, its forces carried out an operation in Jenin to locate weapons and when they arrived at one of the places they were shot at, for which they opened fire.
At the second location, they identified a suspicious vehicle on the side of the road.
“The assailants who were in the vehicle began to fire at the soldiers who responded,” Israel said, claiming to have found weapons, including two M-16 assault rifles, and cartridges at the scene.
The Israeli army has stepped up operations in and around Jenin in recent weeks, an area known to be a stronghold of armed Palestinian factions from which the perpetrators of recent attacks in Israel came.
Last month during an Israeli operation, Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Aklehone of the best-known faces on Al Jazeera television, was killed by a bullet to the head.
The Palestinian National Authority (PNA), Al Jazeera and Qatar, the country where this television station is based, accused the Israeli army of having killed the journalist. Different journalistic investigations reinforced this hypothesis.
Israel, which initially claimed that the journalist – who was wearing a bulletproof vest with the word “press” on it and a helmet when she died – had been shot by a Palestinian, later admitted that it cannot be excluded that the projectile was its own.
The army has not yet published its findings on this internal investigation.
