surveyor Cora Stoeger (48) from Engerwitzdorf, currently Chair of the Engineering Section, and architect Michael Strobel (54) from Salzburg from the Architects Section are running to become the (first) President. Official Rudolph Wernley (70) is no longer a candidate. The 14 chamber board members – seven architects, seven engineers – elect secretly. The question is whether Stöger or Strobl can get representatives of the other professional group on their side beforehand. Because if there is a stalemate, according to the electoral regulations, the lot would decide the presidency for the first time.
Architects have criticized the fact that the engineers have not kept their promise to elect an architect to the top for the first time in 16 years. Engineers counter that this was not unconditional and that Strobl had no cross-section or managerial experience in the chamber. Its internal competitors Carsten Innerhofer from Saalfelden would have been supported. Counter-arguments from architects: Strobl is very active, for example in committees. And the list with him clearly won in the election of the members.
According to both sides, after Wednesday, the content should be pulled together again.
