This is above the average of the past seven days (4,921). Saturday a week ago the number was 4,107. There have been seven deaths since yesterday, the seven-day average was 4.9 per day. There were 527 people in the hospital, four more than were reported yesterday. 34 corona patients were cared for in intensive care units (minus two since yesterday).

The seven-day incidence was 383.6 cases per 100,000 population. As of Saturday, there were 56,700 active cases in Austria, 2,166 more than the day before. Since the beginning of the pandemic there have been 4,322,873 confirmed cases in Austria. 4,247,445 people have recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic, and 3,234 are considered healthy again within the past 24 hours.

34 deaths have been registered in the past seven days. In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 18,728 lives in Austria since it broke out. 208.6 people per 100,000 inhabitants have died from or with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, 53,707 meaningful PCR tests have been registered. Their positive rate was 10.1 percent. This 24-hour value is above the average for the past week (an average of 6.1 percent of the PCR tests positive).

3,069 vaccinations (126 first, 266 second and 2,677 third bites) were carried out on Friday. According to the data from the e-vaccination card, 5,634,357 people and thus 62.7 percent of Austrians have valid vaccination protection.

The protection rate (valid vaccination certificate) is highest in Burgenland at 70.1 percent. In Lower Austria, 66 percent of the population has valid vaccination protection, in Styria 63.9 percent. After Vienna (61.4), Tyrol (60.6), Carinthia (59.6), Vorarlberg (59.2) and Salzburg (58.6), Upper Austria brings up the rear with 58.1 percent.

The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Vienna with 604, followed by Lower Austria, Vorarlberg and Salzburg (440.7, 408.6 and 377.5 respectively). Then come Burgenland (368.6), Tyrol (294.5), Upper Austria (275.2), Styria (239.8) and Carinthia (182.4).
